Events & Visits
I offer both in-person and virtual visits on a variety of topics, including the writing process, the publishing process, forging a creative career, and the influence family and culture have had on my work. I also love leading students through craft workshops so they can leave empowered to create their own stories.
About my presentations …
For pre-k – grade 2 (approximately 35 minutes), an interactive read-aloud and a book-related activity. Topics to choose from: imaginative storytelling, the creative process, basic story elements, how picture books are made, and/or the creation of a group story right on the spot!
For grades 3 – 6 (approximately 45 - 60 minutes), an interactive read-aloud and a book-related activity. Topics to choose from: imaginative storytelling, the creative process, basic story elements, how picture books are made, and/or the creation of a group story right on the spot!

In-Person Rates for the 2025-2026 School Year
- Single presentation or workshop: $350, up to 60 minutes. 
- Half day: $600, includes 2 presentations and/or workshops up to 60 minutes each. 
- Full day: $1,000, includes 4 presentations and/or workshops up to 60 minutes each. Option to swap one session for a “lunch with the author” with a smaller group, like a book club, instead. 
Virtual Visit Rates for the 2025-2026 School Year
- Single presentation or workshop: $150, up to 60 minutes 
- Half day: $250, includes 2 presentations and/or workshops up to 60 minutes each. 
- Full day: $550, includes 4 presentations and/or workshops up to 60 minutes each. 
Other Offerings
- Lunch with the author: $150, great for small groups or clubs up to 15 students. Includes in the full-day visit. 
- Public Libraries: $125, up to 60 minutes. Travel restrictions apply. Virtual chats available. 
Please note:
For travel outside of the Seminole and Orange Counties of Florida, travel expenses (transportation, lodging, etc.) will be added to the listed rates.

Abuelo’s Flower Shop
Preschool (3-5 years); Early Grades (5-8 years)
About a girl who is finally old enough to sell flowers with her abuelo in his shop, only to learn that it’s the last stop before people visit the garden beyond the gate. A place for telling the ones you've loved and lost, "Te recuerdo y te extraño," I remember you, and I miss you.
